Scott Perry

I was born and raised in Anoka and Ramsey, Minnesota. I went to college in Mankato, Minnesota at Bethany Lutheran College and Mankato State University graduating with a B.A. in English in 1991. From there I served with the church on the beautiful Island of Taiwan as an ESL teacher for three years.

I graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 2001 and began serving at Holy Cross Lutheran of Los Gatos for sixteen years and have been teaching full time and filling in as a pulpit supply pastor the past several years. I recently went through an excellent interim ministry training both online and in person. The CNH District matched me up with Grace and, and for many reasons, it seems like a very ideal match!

Thao and I are going on 28 years of marriage and have two sons, Andrew(26) and Justin(22). Thao works full time as a research chemist and is planning on retiring and moving up with to Crescent City in the months to come.

Karla Dillon

Karla and her husband, Sean, moved to Crescent City following her retirement as the Executive Director of a crisis pregnancy center.

Her deep faith has led her to follow the Lord on numerous international (France, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Mexico and Belize) and national mission trips and as support staff at seven different churches.

She earned her BA degree in Organizational Leadership from Simpson University in Redding, CA, and served on staff as the Alumni and Events Manager.

Karla's favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." And 1 Corinthians 10:31b, "Do everything for the glory of God."

She loves crafts, kooky socks, and collects hearts.

René Shanle-Hutzell

René has been an active Bible study leader/facilitator since the early 1990s with a passion for digging into God’s Word and making it applicable for God’s people.

In addition to Sunday morning or weekday Bible studies, she also helps develop Care Groups (Small Groups) within the congregation, with a focus on Bible Study, Fellowship and Service.
